Homeless Meals Ministry

Here’s a way you can help share the love of Jesus here in SB - Every 2nd Tuesday of the month at People’s Park in Isla Vista, we provide lunch for our friends without homes, which, in addition to meeting a physical need, also communicates that they truly matter. You can find more details about that opportunity in your program

Recycling for Orphans

Every last Sunday of the month you can bring your recyclable beverage containers to Hope in order to provide help for orphans in South Africa.

For years we have supported Christ Church Christian Care Center (5cees), an orphanage in Johannesburg, South Africa, by sending financial help and teams of people to care for the children. Joburg is the most overpopulated city in the world, home to abject poverty, AIDS, and many families raised by children. 5cees provides children without parents a place where they receive love, food, shelter, safety, education, and spiritual care.

When you bring your recyclable containers to Hope on the last Sunday of the month, we will take them, recycle them, and send all of the proceeds to 5cees. You can be a part of helping these children find peace and joy!

Here are some things to keep in mind when bringing your recycling:

Container needs to have CRV (California Redemptive Value) written on it.

Make sure lids are removed from the containers.

Keep aluminum, glass, and plastic containers in separate bags.

Labels must be attached to the containers.

You can hand your recycling to the greeters who give out the name tags and they will take care of the rest! Hope you are able to help these children find hope for their future :)

Loads of Love

Loads of Love is a way to care for people by providing them with supplies to launder their clothes. It happens every third Sunday of the month at the House of Laundry at 310 N. Milpas Street at 1pm. This organization serves people that are living on the streets, in vehicles, in shelters, or living with multiple families in a single family dwelling due to financial hardship. As a volunteer, you’ll greet people as they arrive, and provide money and detergent as needed.

Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to share the love of Jesus!

Providing Meals for our Friends Without Homes

Every second Tuesday of the month we meet at Goleta beach at 11:30am to share the love of Jesus with our friends without homes. There are a couple of ways we do this- by caring for their physical needs with free meals, and by caring for their emotional and spiritual needs by talking to them and listening to their stories. We would love to see you there!
